As a teen, Marci Boudreaux skipped over young adult books and jumped right into reading romance novels. She never left. A lifelong lover of the American soap opera, she dreamed of writing for the likes of Erica Kane and Victoria Lord when she was younger, so when the opportunity to write recaps for an online magazine emerged, she jumped at the chance. That position convinced her that she could have a career as a freelance writer and journalist, and her writing journey began.
Eventually, Marci realized she could also write the books she loved to read and turned her efforts to fiction. While Marci has written suspense, paranormal, and erotic fiction, she always finds her way back to sweet contemporary romance because nothing feels better than falling in love with someone new. Since her husband wouldn’t like if she did that in real life, she creates fictional men to admire. She has a soft spot for all her characters—especially the ones she’s put through the emotional wringer. But she promises them all they will have a happy ending and wishes the same for her amazing readers.
Marci holds an MS in Publishing from University of Houston-Victoria and has worked as an editor with Kensington Publishing’s Lyrical Imprint as well as for several smaller indie houses, so she appreciates the craft of writing and how difficult it is on both sides of the red pen. While she works with authors through her author services company, Nerdy Kat Book Services, she is most at home telling stories of passionate, empowered women and the redemptive powers of love.
Marci lives in the Midwest with her husband, two teenaged kiddos, and numerous rescue pets. If she had an ounce of will power, Marci would embrace healthy living but until cupcakes and wine are no longer available at the local grocery store, she’ll put that ambition on hold and appease her guilt by reading self-help books and promising to join a gym “soon.”
Marci’s more erotic material is published under her pen name Emilia Mancini, but she thinks her mother and the members of the local PTA have found her out anyway. Marci loves to connect with readers and fans at indie book events and via social media.
